“Dating out of your league” isn’t real
Main Post:
People love to say someone is “out of your league,” but I don’t think that actually exists. Attraction isn’t some universal ranking system where everyone agrees who’s on top. What makes one person desirable might not matter at all to someone else.
Sure, society tends to put looks, money, or status on a pedestal, but most real relationships are built on compatibility, shared values, humor, and how you make each other feel. Calling someone “out of your league” usually just reflects personal insecurity, not reality.
If two people choose each other, then they’re in the same “league.” Period.

Top Comment: Hot take... The folks at speed dating or most singles meet ups are largely people who fail at online dating. Contrary to what you read on Reddit and the manosphere, plenty of people are meeting folks online. Everyone wants to claim that the apps are all about looks but being able to showcase an interesting personality will take you pretty far when paired with reasonable expectations about your level of attractiveness. So these events end up full of boring people mad that they're in a room with boring people. Let the down votes begin!
What is happening in the current state of dating?
Main Post:
so for those of you who are single and dating right now. What is the number one problem that you have in the dating marketplace? If you’re using apps, what is the number one problem you have with apps? If you’re not getting any dates, why do you think that’s happening? I’m so curious. I’ve been having some conversations with some friends and I think I might know why, but I would love your input

So… how do you find people to date?

Where do you start?

Dating in Reddit
Main Post:
Why can't we all normalize using this app for dating purpose? Like choosing a person, chat with them and meet them in person around our location?
Top Comment: When you say this app, do you mean this subreddit ? Because there is ton of subreddit in reddit that are used to date and meet currently, like r/r4r
So I keep hearing that people are meeting significant others on Reddit. Is this true?
Main Post:
When I began using the apps I thought I had a lot to offer but have had zero luck on the apps even in major cities. I'm curious what other people's experiences are and if a lot of people are meeting off Reddit? I also think the apps are extremely difficult for women over the age of 40 because men their own age want to date so much younger it seems.
Top Comment: Just a reminder: as has been previously established, this is NOT a place to look for dates or to "advertise" yourself. We will allow discussion of Reddit as a way to date the same way that we allow discussion of apps as a way to date.
